Channeling: Mainstream Media Vs. Cannabis Research Studies

A recent study came out on January 28th 2025 by the University of Colorado, the study looked at the effect of cannabis use on young adults who are recent or heavy users.
Every research study should be analyzed and observed for validity, this is not to say that I believe this study is completely invalid. However, there are a few interesting factors worth mentioning that could possibly affect the validity in the results.
First thing I noticed was how they determined heavy, moderate, and non-users. They categorized individuals as nonusers if they had used 10 or fewer times, as moderate users if they had used 11 to 999 times, and as heavy users if they had used 1000 or more times.
I don't believe that is the most accurate way to categorize cannabis users vs. non-users. Also, how different would the brain function/memory be for the person who consumed 999 times(moderate), compared to the person who used 1000 times (heavy)?
Next thing I want to mention, is that out of the 1003 adults there were 470 men and 533 women that fell into these categories. For lifetime history criteria, 88 participants (8.8%) were classified as heavy cannabis users, 179 (17.8%) as moderate users, and 736 (73.4%) as non-users.
I don't believe that this is a fair way to compare across the board, being that they were essentially comparing 736 people(non-users) to 88 people (heavy users.) I believe the study would have been more fair had they compared equal amounts of people on each side. Again, just another factor that may have contributed to the end result.
Unfortunately, since cannabis is medicinal and does help significantly with many ailments across the board, Big Pharma and Mainstream Media are constantly trying to portray it in a negative light.
Always use proper discernment when looking at cannabis studies, or any study for that matter.
Not every study is valid, in fact, most are not.
It's very complex to perform research studies with high validity and takes great attention to detail.
Don't ever believe everything you read or see, always do your own research and look deeper into things. Question everything. This truly applies to all things in life.
Here is a link to the study so you can check it out yourself. Feel free to let me know what you guys think in the comments. I hope this helps and that next time when you see a study, even if it's in "favor" of cannabis, that you always look further in detail.
